Hunter Mountain 2/16/13
There is some fantastic skiing in the Woodstock area. My personal favourite is Hunter Mountain. Intermediate trails are plentiful, and there’s enough challenging terrain, including double black diamond runs, to keep us advanced skiers happy. If there’s a snowboarder in your party there’s a halfpipe lift ticket for snowboarders who want to only ride the pipe and terrain park. There’s snow tubing plus a nice little beginner area called Hunter One. They also have some great deals for beginners.
My friends came up last weekend and bought the 3-day ski pass, 3 days of equipment rental and 3 lessons for only $109. A fantastic deal! We’ve had quite a bit of snow up here and so the snow conditions are pretty good right now! They are projecting a ski season until March 15.
Other mountains in the area include:
Bellayre Mountain: 47 trails, parks and glades, 8 lifts, including a new high speed quad lift. Plattekill Mountain: skiing, snowboarding and snowtubing.
Windham Mountain: a few miles north of Hunter, but a very different atmosphere. Its simple trail layout makes it a great mountain for beginners and families.

Thanks for sharing, the lessons are fantastic and you get to jump the lift lines. Ask for George, he’s a great instructor.
